Landmark Judgment on Statutory and Customary Marriage
Secured a landmark judgment for a client based in the United States of America, in which the Court held that the dissolution of a statutory marriage by the High Court does not automatically dissolve a subsisting customary marriage. The Court further restrained the Defendant, who had contracted a statutory marriage with the client’s husband during the subsistence of the customary marriage, from parading herself as the wife or widow of the client’s husband and from using his name.
Property Acquisition Advisory
Advised and assisted several clients in property acquisitions, including conducting due diligence, preparing and reviewing title documents, and ensuring compliance with relevant property and land laws to secure clients’ interests.
Judgment Against a Government Authority
Successfully represented a client in a high-value civil action against a government authority, resulting in a favourable judgment in which the Court ordered the Government to pay damages running into hundreds of millions of naira to our client.
Advisory on Microfinance Bank Acquisition
Advised a microfinance bank in relation to its acquisition by another microfinance bank in a transaction valued at several millions of naira, including legal advisory and transaction support.

Landmark Action Against Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO)
Instituted and successfully prosecuted an action against the Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) on behalf of our client. The Court entered judgment in favour of our client, a decision which ultimately led to the removal of VIO officers from the roads in Akwa Ibom State.
